After making an unexpected run to Super Bowl LX, the New England Patriots have been linked to several different trade targets this offseason, some of which are more realistic than others.
Perhaps the most unrealistic of the bunch is Cleveland Browns superstar defensive end Myles Garrett , who has once again found trade rumors swirling around him. After the Browns recently restructured Garrett's contract, some folks took this as a sign that the team could be considering moving on from the league's new single-season sack champion. However, according to reports, it doesn't sound like the Patriots , or any team for that matter, will be able to acquire Garrett this offseason.
"The Browns are 'adamant' that they are not trading Garrett, NFL Network Insider Mike Garafolo reported Friday, and trade rumors have 'nothing to do with the motivation for what they did in his contract,' Garafolo said," Nick Shook wrote for NFL. com. It's not too hard to see why New England would be interested in Garrett, as he is fresh off a 23-sack campaign for the lowly Browns.
With Cleveland continuing to struggle to build a winner, it's fair to wonder if the front office would find it more beneficial to deal its best player in exchange for some draft capital. Even with Garrett set to command a mammoth return, the Browns don't appear to have any interest in moving on from him, no matter what the rumors surrounding him may suggest. As a result, if the Patriots want more pass-rushing help, they may want to look to add someone at this spot early in the 2026 NFL Draft.
