Could the Bucs land an offensive playmaker in the 2026 NFL Draft
The Bucs offense had some bumps in 2025, so could they get a boost on that side of the ball in the NFL Draft?
The 2026 NFL Draft will take place in Pittsburgh next April, a city that could be where the Bucs select the next star they add to their roster in hopes of righting the proverbial ship. Before next April, though, there will be plenty of speculation and buildup for the team and who they may add to the roster through the draft. Thankfully, we now have some added context for players now that the scouting combine has come and gone.
CBS Sports' Josh Edwards recently released the latest 2026 NFL mock draft of the cycle, which has the team focusing on offense in this mock draft. He gave them Oregon tight end Kenyon Sadiq, who could be a multi-faceted weapon in their offense after the departure of Mike Evans in free agency. Edwards explains the Sadiq pick, writing, "Buccaneers offensive coordinator Zac Robinson has roots with the Rams, who use a lot of two and three tight end sets.
Although Tampa Bay re-signed Cade Otton, that does not exclude the Bucs from adding another player at the position. The franchise may want to add another pass catcher, but it does not mean it has to be a receiver. They have other needs, but Day 2 selections may better align with those objectives.
" It has previously been suggested that Sadiq could become the team's slot receiver with Chris Godwin moving outside. If they take that route, it would allow for quarterback Baker Mayfield to be in the best position possible to make a difference heading into a contract year.
