Marc Marquez’s private comments on 2027 Ducati deal as confirmation still pending

With nearly every rider out of contract by 2026, this season’s rider market was always going to be chaotic. Marquez finds himself right in the middle of it all, with plenty of speculation swirling about his plans for 2027. A sensational return to Honda had been mentioned as a possibility for Marquez.

But he is said to have already signed his new contract with Ducati, reportedly during the Sepang test. Marquez is believed to have asked for just a one-year deal from Ducati after picking up an injury in 2025. The details of the agreement aren’t known yet and no announcement has been made.

The biggest questions going into this season centred on how quickly he could regain his form and fitness after recovering from injury. When asked by DAZN whether he was returning for one more attempt or an extended stint in MotoGP, Marquez gave little away: “The intentions are very clear: I am not coming back here just to walk around,” he replied. Chercoles went on to explain his conversation with Marquez: “I say: ‘How can it be announced if there’s an administrative silence? ’ He says: ‘It would have been announced.
