Yahoo Sports

Sarah Strong is the latest in her family to reach basketball dominance.

Sarah Strong is one of the driving forces of UConn women's basketball's 52-game winning streak. It's a spotlight she was born to enter. Both of Strong's parents played professional basketball with her mother, Allison Feaster, having the more notable career of the two.

Feaster made history in 1998 by helping Harvard upset Stanford in the NCAA Tournament, marking the first victory by a No. 16 seed over a No. 1 seed.

She went on to play 10 seasons in the WNBA, earning an All-Star appearance in 2004. Strong's father, Danny Strong, played two seasons for NC State in the 1990s before embarking on a professional basketball career in Europe. Strong was born in Europe, Spain in particular, and molded her game through the instruction of her talented parents.

Now, she's approaching the doorstep of a second consecutive national title. What a journey it's been for the Strong family, and with Strong expected to be a top pick in the WNBA Draft when she enters, it's only beginning.
