Roy Hodgson makes shock return to management at 78 Roy Hodgson has made a sensational return to football management at the age of 78 after being installed as the interim boss at Bristol City. The Robins announced on Friday morning that Gerhard Struber had been sacked as head coach, stating that “recent performances have not met expectations”. City have not won any of their last six games in all competitions, losing five and drawing the other, leaving them 16th in the Championship table.
Hodgson will take charge of the team until the end of the season while the club search for a permanent head coach ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
