61st Whiskeytown regatta draws sailors to Redding lake
The 61st Annual Whiskeytown Memorial Weekend Regatta will bring sailors from across the West to Whiskeytown Lake.
The Whiskeytown Sailing Club will host its 61st Annual Whiskeytown Memorial Weekend Regatta on May 23-24 at Whiskeytown Lake. The regatta is a two-day sailboat race that attracts sailors from California, Nevada, Oregon and Washington, the club said in a community announcement. Each year, more than 40 sailors enter their boats in the competition.
Some have been participating in the race for generations, the club reported. m. May 23. Following the race, the club will host a catered regatta dinner at 6 p.
m. Reservations are required in advance for the dinner. The event will conclude with an awards ceremony after the final race on May 24.
