OKC Comets ready for 2026 season with reigning PCL MVP Ryan Ward leading way
The Oklahoma City Comets will open the 2026 season Friday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The Comets will host the Albuquerque Isotopes at 7:05 p. m.

An outfielder and first baseman, he was named the Pacific Coast League Most Valuable Player last season.
The 28-year-old finished the season with a . 290 batting average, . 380 on-base percentage, 36 home runs, 122 RBIs and 113 runs in 143 games.
“For me personally, looking to build on the things that I did last year,” Ward said. “The jump from ‘24 to ‘25 was big for me. I’m looking to continue working on all those things and keep going forward.
” Drafted in the eighth round of the 2019 draft out of Bryant University, Ward hasn’t played in the big leagues and this is his fourth year in OKC. Defense has been his main focus in the offseason, and he hopes to get his shot. "This is year eight for me with them now, so really comfortable in the system and then just the team in general,” Ward said.
