Laura Ziegler has only had one year with Louisville women's basketball. She's made it count, helping the Louisville Cardinals reach the NCAA Sweet 16.

Laura Ziegler has become contemplative in her old age. Well, to be fair, 23 is old for Louisville women’s basketball . Ziegler is one of two seniors on the team and the only one in UofL’s starting lineup.

Now that her college career is coming to an end, this weekend or next, she finds herself reflecting on the last four years. After three seasons at Saint Joseph’s, Ziegler entered the transfer portal . She loved Philadelphia, her first home outside her native Denmark.

Kelly green and greased lampposts occupy a sacred place in her heart. But she decided to leave for Louisville in 2025, believing Jeff Walz could develop her into a WNBA prospect. “Transferring is difficult,” Ziegler said after the Cardinals’ victory over Alabama to clinch a Sweet 16 berth.

“You want to get it right. “... I've learned so much this year.
