Florentino Perez refuses to allow Barcelona to sign former academy ace Just yesterday, it came to light that Barcelona were closely monitoring former Real Madrid academy ace Victor Munoz, who currently renders his services at Osasuna. The youngster, who left the Merengues last summer, has been impressing at the Pamplona-based club and has caught the eyes of several of Europe’s elite. Osasuna paid €5 million for 50% of his rights, but Real Madrid still own the remaining.

Should any club, including Barcelona, trigger his €40 million release clause, Real Madrid will thus stand to gain €20 million. Perez’s clear refusal News of Barcelona’s interest in Munoz has already reached the ears of the Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez. As reported by Defensa Central , he refuses to allow the player to join Barcelona even if the Catalans pay out his full release clause.

Real Madrid have three buyback clauses on the Osasuna star, priced at €8 million, €9 million and €10 million for the summers of 2026, 2027 and 2028, respectively.

It thus remains to be seen if Los Blancos trigger the aforementioned clause to keep control of him and prevent a move to Catalonia. Interestingly, Munoz was born in Barcelona and even trained at La Masia early in his playing days. He made the move to Real Madrid’s academy in 2021 and was with the club until his move to Osasuna last summer.

So far this season, he has already made 31 appearances for Osasuna and has six goals and five assists to his name.
