This French player reached out to the GOAT before playing at Gillette

When it came time to play at Gillette Stadium, France's Aurélien Tchouaméni sought out the GOAT himself as Les Bleus pulled off a Brady-esque win.

Tom Brady knows a thing or two about winning games at Gillette Stadium. So when it came to taking on five-time World Cup champions Brazil in a friendly in Foxboro on Thursday, March 26, France midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni knew exactly who to reach out to. The 26-year-old Real Madrid star told reporters texted the GOAT himself ahead of the match, which France won 2-1 for its first victory over the Canarinha since 2011.

"It's incredible to get the chance to play in Tom Brady's stadium," Tchouaméni said. "I texted him before the game to tell him that it was a pleasure for me to play in this stadium. Great atmosphere and great fan base, that was dope.

" Unlike TB12 in his days with the New England Patriots , however, the crowd was largely against Tchouaméni and Les Bleus as the crowd swayed heavily in favor of Brazil, boosted by the Bay State's large Brazilian community. "Honestly I was a little bit surprised (by the turnout for Brazil), especially during the national anthems," Tchouaméni said. "But it is what it is.

Brazil is closer than France, so we knew that they would have a lot of fans in the stadium but we stayed focused on ourselves. " In that same vein, France pulled off a Brady-esque victory. After going up 1-0 in the first half via a beautiful cross-net chip shot by forward Kylian Mbappé , Les Bleus suffered a setback in the 55th minute as defender Dayot Upamecano was issued a yellow card for a tackle on Brazilian defender Wesley just outside the box.
