JACKSON, Mississippi ( KETK ) — As we get closer to the 2026 NFL Draft, college programs across the country are hosting pro days to allow scouts to get a look at some of the athletes on their teams. Kilgore College Football makes the postseason after a big win On Thursday, Jackson State, in Jackson, Mississippi, hosted its pro day, which featured running back Donerio Davenport. That name might be familiar to some in East Texas, since Davenport played for the Kilgore College Rangers in 2021 and 2022.
In his sophomore season with K. C, Davenport was named conference offensive m-v-p, and helped the Rangers win the SWJCFC championship. He made stops at Texas State, Louisiana Tech, and finally Jackson State, and he says his time in the piney woods,s learning under head coach Willie Gooden, helped prepare him to take this next step in his football career.
The NFL draft will begin thursday, April 23rd, and run through Saturday, the 25th. Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
