Brown has carried the Celtics all season, leading them to the second-best record in the Eastern Conference despite being without Jayson Tatum for most of the year. Even now with Tatum back, Brown's continued to play at an MVP level with at least 29 points in six of his last seven games. On Wednesday, Brown put on a show against the defending champs, propelling Boston to a statement win over the Oklahoma City Thunder with 31 points, eight rebounds and eight assists.
He also went toe-to-toe with reigning MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, matching him offensively and guarding him during the fourth quarter. Brown likes to say he's the best two-way player in the game, and Wednesday was just the latest example of that. Between Brown's career year and the Celtics' shocking success this season, many believe he deserves to win the NBA MVP award, including Boston legend Isaiah Thomas.
