Montverde junior Lola Rey is Sentinel girls soccer Player of the Year

The dominance of the Montverde girls soccer team was obvious throughout the 2025-26 season and it’s certainly reflected in this year’s Sentinel All-Area soccer selections, as nine Eagles players made this list. Montverde (21-1-1) was the Class 3A state champion and 18 of those victories were shutouts. One player definitely stood out the most and it was Lola Rey, a junior midfielder with a keen awareness for the ball.

She scored 27 goals and had seven assists and is the Sentinel’s Player of the Year. “From a leadership standpoint, she was obviously important. She’s a good-character kid, always positive, works hard,” Montverde coach Robbie Aristodemo said.

“She’s always wanting to get better and on the outside, you wouldn’t know that because people always look at the stats. But her growth mindset is key for her because she is always wanting to improve. ” Montverde girls score late, add another 3A state soccer title to the pile Aristodemo said she has improved every season since arriving at Montverde as an eighth grader.

She is American but of Argentinian decent on her father’s side and her family moved to the Montverde area from South Florida four years ago. She was recently invited to tryouts for the Under-17 Argentinian national team. But Aristodemo said she wasn’t always the polished soccer player we see today.

“She came to us as a very, very raw soccer player,” Aristodemo said. “So we feel pretty good about the development process. With Lola, it’s been a long-term process.
