Report: Maycon Cardozo has become Bayern Munich’s backup to Luis Díaz after Wisdom Mike’s big injury
One man's loss is another man's game, as cruel as that can be.

The Bavarians went into the season notably weaker in the wing position, having let Kingsley Coman and Leroy Sané leave in the summer. In turn, they promoted Lennart Karl and Wisdom Mike to the senior team. They were never expected to play crucial roles, though Karl caught fire and became Europe’s hottest sensation for a few months.
Wisdom Mike, however, has had a bit of a different campaign. Though it has been a campaign of many firsts (first appearance for the U-23s, Bundesliga and Champions League debut for senior team) his performances through the campaign have not backed up his elevated status at Bayern. He is still too raw of a talent to truly dominate games at U-19 or U-23 level, let alone justify a squad spot with the senior team.
But there is another winger at Bayern who perhaps can. Maycon Cardozo has had a sterling season, dominating games, scoring wonder goals, dispensing the Brazilian flair missed for so long at the FC Bayern Campus and even deputizing at right back. He is one of the many players that have made their debut under head coach Vincent Kompany this season, even reaching two appearances at the time of writing.
