Boo Corrigan on Will Wade’s exit, what comes next

RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA - MARCH 2: Head coach Jon Scheyer (L) of the Duke Blue Devils talks with head coach Will Wade of the NC State Wolfpack prior to their game at Lenovo Center on March 2, 2026 in Raleigh, North Carolina. (Photo by Lance King/Getty Images) | Getty Images Boo Corrigan met with the media on Thursday afternoon to talk about what happened with Will Wade this week, and how he plans to move forward. A lot happened very quickly in what has been a bizarre week—I suppose it’s appropriate that Wade now works alongside Lane Kiffin, who pulled this exact stunt on Tennessee once upon a time.

Anyway, there are plenty of enlightening details in his discussion today. Corrigan didn’t directly call Will Wade a liar, but that’s all in there, to be sure. Even after seeing this done like 500 times, it still amazes me that coaches just ghost on out of town without feeling even slightly compelled to tell their boss in person that they’re taking another job.

By the standards of the coaching industry, Wade sending his resignation via email through his agent is just totally fine. I actually don’t have a problem with that. I do have a problem with him getting out of here without having to apologize personally to each and every single person in the fanbase for that Jimmy V photo.

We do not need a $4 million buyout, we need to dunk his head in a toilet four million times, then we can call it even. ( Also just remembered this . Circumstances really make the crootin’ sites look extra cringe sometimes.
