It is no secret that Emma Navarro has struggled on the tennis court lately; however, fans never count her down or out. Navarro concerned many with her Thursday afternoon announcement that she is withdrawing from the Charleston Open . Not only is the Charleston Open her hometown tournament, but also her family owns the event.
In the Charleston area, Navarro is pictured on numerous tournament billboards advertising the event. Earlier in the day on Thursday, she posted a note on her Instagram reel about seeing everyone in Charleston on Sunday at a meet and greet as part of her brand ambassador deal with FP Movement. Navarro joined FP Movement in 2026 after years with FILA, and FP Movement is a sponsor of this year’s Charleston Open.

Emma Navarro admitted that she has been dealing with ongoing health issues and in consultation with her doctors, realized that she needed more time before stepping back onto a tennis court to play a WTA match.
After losing in the Round of 64 at Indian Wells on March 7, she entered the Austin WTA 125 Challenger event and lost in the first round on March 10. Navarro withdrew from the Miami Open for undisclosed reasons, a fact that seemingly flew below the radar in the midst of the Sunshine Double. Fans have theories on what those could be, but none that can be substantiated.
