Indiana transfer wide receiver learned the hard way that head coach Curt Cignetti wasn't pleased with his spring practice attire.

For the first day of Indiana Hoosiers spring practice, transfer wide receiver Nick Marsh trotted onto the field wearing gold cleats. To put it lightly, head coach Curt Cignetti wasn't pleased. "I didn't love those gold shoes that he came out in," Cignetti told reporters.

"He learned what getting your ass ripped is all about. I don't know if that happened to him very often at Michigan State. " March committed to Indiana during the Hoosiers' College Football Playoff run after two seasons with the Michigan State Spartans.

In two years, he totaled 1,311 yards and nine touchdowns on 100 receptions, becoming one of the top young pass catchers in college football. As a transfer, he was rated as a four-star and ranked as the No. 10 wide receiver, per 247 Sports.

He's expected to follow in the footsteps of Elijah Sarratt, who followed Cignetti from James Madison and molded himself into a sure-fire 2026 NFL draftee after two years in Bloomington. Indiana WR Nick Marsh wore gold cleats to IU's first spring camp session. Curt Cignetti was not pleased to see that.
