Fossil Ridge's Noah Gustafson named Blue FCU Athlete of the Week
Fossil Ridge track and field's Noah Gustafson was named Blue FCU's Athlete of the Week after 1-2-3 finishes at Fort Collins' Runners Roost Invite.
This week's Blue Federal Credit Union Athlete of the Week award is soaring through the air and over any and all hurdles. Fossil Ridge track and field's Noah Gustafson took top honors in the Fort Collins area for the week of March 16-21 after leaping to top finishes at the Runners Roost Invite. The SaberCat had 1-2-3 placements in his three events at Fort Collins' annual early season invite, with this year's edition held out at PSD Stadium on March 21.
Gustafson sprinted to the 300-meter hurdles title in a time of 40. 60 seconds, winning by nearly a full second. The junior also took second in the 110 hurdles, falling by just three-tenths of a second in a tight race.
Finally, Gustafson rounded out his day on the field events, placing third in the triple jump at 43 feet, 8 1/4 inches. That was less than an inch off the runner-up mark and less than three feet from the winning jump. Gustafson already qualified for state as a sophomore, placing 12th in Class 5A last spring.
Now, the junior is one of our boys track and field athletes to watch this year , and he's already backing that up with a strong run to start the spring. Gustafson already has two individual wins in 2026 and has yet to finish worse than fourth in any of his nine completed events across three disciplines. Fossil fans showed out at the polls, elevating Gustafson ahead of a tightly bunched field with 26.
