Michigan State hockey defeated UConn on Thursday afternoon in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament, moving on to play in the regional final and a shot to play in a Frozen Four. The Spartans defeated the Huskies 2-1 to earn a hard fought victory. Earning the game winning goal for the Spartans was none other than Porter Martone, the team's leading scorer in 2025-26, and he did it on the biggest stage.
