OU softball pitching coach Jennifer Rocha reportedly set to return for LSU series
OU softball pitching coach Jennifer Rocha is reportedly set to rejoin the Sooners this weekend for their series against LSU.
Oklahoma pitching coach Jennifer Rocha is set to rejoin the Sooners this weekend in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, as they take on LSU in a three-game series, according to OU in-house radio host Toby Rowland . Rocha did not travel with OU for its season-opening games in Arizona in February because of a health matter and has been away from the team since. To fill the void, the Sooners hired Karlie Keeney, a former pitcher on OU's 2024 national championship team, as an interim coach.
Five days before the season, it was determined Rocha needed to be away from the team. She had already returned once sooner than expected after a medical procedure was supposed to sideline her for six weeks. A second procedure extended that timeline again, leaving the Sooners without their pitching anchor on the eve of opening day.
Rocha has helped guide OU to six straight Women’s College World Series appearances, which included four consecutive national championships from 2021-24. Her pitching staffs at OU own a 1. 74 ERA.
Getting Rocha back is massive news for a Sooners staff that owns a 2. 71 team ERA and has been finding its stride as a unit of late. More: Sydney Berzon 'smiling a lot' as OU softball pitcher finds her stride before LSU series OU softball vs LSU schedule Game 1: 6 p.
