Thursday Cheese Curds: Your favorite football writer didn’t watch the 2025 Packers

It’s Big Opinion season. Many of those surrounding the Green Bay Packers seem a bit untethered from reality.

Ah, yes. Big Opinion season. Look, I get it.

The content monster doesn’t care that it’s March 26th. It demands sacrifice. So, if you’re a nationally known football opinion haver, you need to keep having opinions.

That’s what you get paid for. Me too, for that matter (hence the clickbait headline of today’s Curds). The problem I always run into at this time of year is that opinions sometimes feel untethered from reality.

In an article published yesterday, my friend Paul Noonan made eloquent work of the case for not relying too heavily on free agency — or at least taking a much more nuanced approach to the give and take that is long-term NFL roster building. I highly suggest you read it. He mentions one such opinion haver, Ben Solak , who has sharply criticized the Packers’ “philosophy” this offseason.
