Airing live on Paramount+, UFC Fight Night 271 features former champion Israel Adesanya against Joe Pyfer from the Climate Pledge Arena. It is the fifth trip to the Pacific Northwest for the promotion and first since February 2025. Adesanya has twice held the UFC middleweight belt, making five consecutive title defenses the first time around.

However, he has dropped three straight, including a loss to Nassourdine Imavov in early 2025. Before the recent run of bad luck, Adesanya won 24 of his first 26 fights, including 16 by way of knockout. He bested the likes of Alex Pereira, Robert Whittaker, Yoel Romero and former UFC champion Anderson Silva.

Pyfer, meanwhile, has secured four "Fight of the Night" bonuses and is riding a three-fight win streak. In his last bout, he submitted Abusupiyan Magomedov with a nasty face crank, improving to 15-3 overall with 13 wins by knockout or submission. But there is plenty more scheduled for the night.
