John Glenn softball rolls to early wins, March 23-25 top performers
John Glenn, Maysville, Philo and Crooksville were among the impressive first-week winners in Muskingum Valley League softball.
NEW CONCORD — Delaney Bell fired a three-hitter and host John Glenn made the most of seven hits in a 7-1 win against visiting Indian Valley in a girls high school softball game on March 25. Estelle Matheney had three singles, drove in a run and scored three times for John Glenn (3-0), which scored five times in the first three innings to build a 5-1 lead. The Braves (0-3) committed five errors.
Ava Miller tripled and singled with an RBI and Kinley Porter added a double and single with an RBI for John Glenn, which had six players collect hits. The Braves were held to seven singles. The Panthers led 5-2 after four innings.
