The new head coach of the New York Giants , John Harbaugh, may not call all of the shots when it comes to the team's roster, but he has a big influence on it.
Former Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has been in the news lately, looking to get back onto an NFL roster, and he wouldn't mind it being in New York . Beckham participated in the Fanatics Flag Football Classic this past weekend and showed that he can still make some incredible plays on the field.
Of course, flag football and playing in the NFL are two totally different things, and after not being on a roster last year, and now being 33 years old, there is going to be skepticism surrounding what he can still do. However, Harbaugh and the Giants should be strongly considering this move. Giants bringing back Odell Beckham makes plenty of sense For starters, what is it going to hurt to sign Beckham to a one-year deal right now?
The worst that can happen is that he's just not good enough to make the 53-man roster and you cut him at the end of the preseason. That said, the Giants are a team that could definitely use help at the wide receiver position in order to support second-year quarterback Jaxson Dart. Signing Darnell Mooney and Calvin Austin III in free agency was a start, but the team will have to hope that Malik Nabers can fully recover from a torn ACL and get back to the level he was playing at.
