One of LSU's top players is planning to enter the transfer portal, ending his time with the Tigers after just one season.

The LSU Tigers disappointed during the 2025-26 season, finishing with just 15 overall wins and three victories in SEC play. The road forward won't be any easier, as guard Dedan Thomas Jr. , the team's second-leading scorer, plans to enter the transfer portal, per On3's Joe Tipton.

Thomas's tenure with the program ends after just one season, as he averaged 15. 3 points, 2. 7 rebounds and 6.

5 assists per game on 45. 9% from the field and 30. 2% from 3-point range.

His assists mark would've tied for the SEC-lead, but Thomas suffered a foot injury that caused him to miss 16 games including the final month and a half of the season. Without their leading assist man, the Tigers finished the season on a 2-10 skid culminating in a loss to the Kentucky Wildcats in the 1st round of the SEC tournament. NEW: LSU guard Dedan Thomas Jr.
