— It's been a banner year for high school sports in Freeman. Last weekend, the Flyers claimed their first boys basketball state title since 1975. However, most of the players on the Flyers' rosters were already state champions from this academic year, having played for the Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy football cooperative that steamrolled to a Class 9AA title back in November.
