Seahawks meet with former Steelers and Chargers free agent RB Najee Harris

The Seahawks' running back situation is not settled

To the surprise of absolutely no one, the Seattle Seahawks' running back situation is not fully solidified or resolved. Seattle lost their MVP of Super Bowl LX, Kenneth Walker III, to the Kansas City Chiefs in free agency earlier this offseason. The Seahawks did sign former Packers running back Emanuel Wilson, but the fact it's a one-year deal tells us they view this as a depth/stop-gap move as of right now.

Furthermore, we know this is the case due to their continued moves in free agency. On Wednesday afternoon, it was announced the Seahawks brought in former Pittsburgh Steelers and Los Angeles Chargers running back Najee Harris for a free agent visit . Harris is seeking his third NFL team in as many seasons, as his one-year stint with the Chargers ended tragically and prematurely with an Achilles tear in Week 3.

After four seasons with the Steelers, which saw Harris eclipse the 1,000k rushing yard mark each time, the former Alabama Crimson Tide star headed west to the Chargers. Harris signed a one-year deal with LA, but suffered the aforementioned Achilles injury. In his career, Harris has rushed for 4,373 yards and 28 touchdowns.

One of his best games unfortunately came at the expense of the Seahawks. In Week 17 of the 2023 season, Seattle hosted Pittsburgh and fell 30-23 at home. Harris rushed for 122 yards and two touchdowns to essentially knock the Seahawks out of the playoffs.
