Matt Campbell gives positive health update on entire Penn State roster

Yahoo Sports

Penn State head coach Matt Campbell says that every player on the roster is on track to be healthy by the start of fall camp.

The introduction of NIL deals and the altered transfer portal rules have drastically changed team building in college sports. Every team at every level is coping with these changes, but Penn State is presented with a unique challenge with a new head coach, Matt Campbell , and a wildly different roster and recruiting board. In addition to the Nittany Lions players who got injured last season, like Tony Rojas and Anthony Donkoh , Campbell brought over some familiar faces from Iowa State , some of whom are also injured.

One of those players is quarterback Rocco Becht , who will be in the running to be the team’s starter. While Penn State’s new head man didn’t discuss each individual hobbled player, he gave a general update on everyone’s status that will be music to the fanbase’s ears “At this point everybody should be a full go, ready to rock and roll by the time we get to fall camp," Campbell told reporters when asked about the availability of more than the few players previously mentioned in his press conference There will be a few guys who miss the entirety of spring practices, but the Nittany Lions should have their full complement of weapons during the ramp-up to the regular season. Injuries played a critical factor in the team’s midseason struggles, so hopefully everyone affected by them can get back to full strength and remain there.

Health will play a key factor in Penn State’s success this year and it seems like things are already trending in the right direction. Follow Nittany Lions Wire on X and Facebook .
