Iowa State's T.J. Otzelberger tamps down speculation connecting him with other job openings across the country.
CHICAGO — Iowa State basketball coach T. J. Otzelberger attempted to put a fork in the notion that he's a candidate for other jobs across the country.
Otzelberger began his Sweet 16 press conference Wednesday with a statement that addressed the rumors floating around social media. "First, I'd like to start by saying that any speculation with me and any other jobs and opportunities is not true," Otzelberger said. "I am the coach of the Cyclones, thrilled to be the coach of the Cyclones.
"And what I can say to you as we move together is the alignment on our campus with Dr. Cook, (athletics director) Jamie Pollard is amazing and we're thrilled and excited for our future together," the Cyclones coach added. "So really appreciative of Jamie Pollard and (ISU president) David Cook and the conversations we've had, and so just excited about our future.
