m. PT. Locally, this game will be taking place on Friday morning at 10:35 a.
m. in Melbourne, but the game will air on Thursday evening in the United States with the 17-hour time change. San Francisco’s game will be the second one to kick off the new league year, as the Seattle Seahawks will host the regular season opener on Wednesday, September 9th against an opponent to be determined.
With the time slot, it seems like this game will be the Thursday Night Primetime Game for Week 1. It will be a quick trip for the 49ers, likely, who will have to accommodate the time change and return for Week 2, although the NFL may help San Francisco with an early bye week this season. But, the news announced on Wednesday backs up a report last week from the Wall Street Journal’s Joe Flint that the 49ers and Rams would be playing on Thursday after the Seahawks played on Wednesday to kick off the new season.
