The 2020 Olympic gold medalist, who also captured a pair of NCAA titles for the University of Minnesota, recently signed a deal to compete for Real American Freestyle (RAF).
A date and opponent for Steveson’s RAF debut has yet to be determined. I imagine this rematch from last year’s NCAA tourney would be in the conversation. “Gable is a generational athlete and one of the biggest stars our sport has ever produced,” said Chad Bronstein, CEO and Co-Founder of Real American Freestyle.
“We set out to build a true professional home for the best wrestlers in the world and Gable choosing RAF is proof that we’re doing exactly that. ” Steveson, 25, is also an active MMA fighter with a 3-0 record under coach Jon Jones . Signing with RAF is not expected to impact his future with Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), which seems inevitable at this stage .
