Nebraska racks up season-high 14 runs in win over Kansas State

Nebraska ventured down to Kansas State Tuesday night for a single-game clash. The Huskers powered past the Wildcats, taking the 14-9 win.

Nebraska baseball (19-6) ventured down to Kansas State (17-8) Tuesday night for a single-game weekday matchup. Despite an early back-and-forth, the Huskers once again powered past their opponent to get the win, taking down the Wildcats 14-9. The bats grew hot for both teams between the third and fifth innings with a combined 15 runs scored in the stretch.

Nebraska tallied nine, starting the run in the third by turning a 2-2 tie into a 6-2 lead. But Kansas State responded in the fourth, posting six runs. The Huskers quickly bounced back in the fifth, earning five to take an 11-8 lead.

Drew Grego put the game away in his final two at-bats, hitting back-to-back home runs to close out the night. He finished 3-for-4 with five RBIs. Nebraska delivered 15 hits in the win.

Kansas State totaled 11. Mac Moyer batted 4-for-6, scoring three runs and earning one RBI. Jeter Worthley hit 3-for-6 with two RBIs and scored twice.
