One of the stars of the 1st round of the NCAA tournament plans to enter the transfer portal, potentially looking for a power conference opportunity.

Through 35 minutes against the top-seeded Duke Blue Devils , it appeared that Siena star guard Gavin Doty was set to etch his name in March Madness history. The 16-seeded Siena Saints were knotted up at 61 with Duke in the first round of the 2026 NCAA tournament, with Doty totaling 21 points on seven-of-20 from the field and three-of-12 from 3-point range. He'd shown an ability to get to his spots in the midrange despite wading through a slew of five-star Blue Devils.

Unfortunately for Doty and the Saints, the Blue Devils finished the game on a 10-4 run, escaping what would've been the most improbable upset in tournament history. Less than a week later, Doty reportedly intends to enter the transfer portal, capitalizing on a standout performance against one of the nation's best teams. On3's Joe Tipton was the first to report the news.
