He used that word to describe his own mindset in his final season of junior hockey. And he used it to describe the attitude the Grizzlies will carry with them this week to suburban St. Louis, site of the North American 3 Hockey League's national championship tournament, the Robertson Cup.
"We've had to be desperate," said Decker, a John Marshall graduate in his second and final season with the Grizzlies. "That's how we started the playoffs, playing with desperation. " For Decker, that sense of urgency has translated to the stat sheet.
