Boston goes to Great American Ball Park for a three-game set against the Reds. Along with seeing Andrew Abbott on Thursday, the Red Sox were aligned to oppose another promising young left-handed pitcher. However, Nick Lodolo won't be available to pitch against Boston this week.

Per Gordon Wittenmyer of the Cincinnati Enquirer, the Reds will place the 28-year-old on the injured list. FOX19's Charlie Goldsmith laid out Cincinnati's updated rotation to start the season. After Abbott, the Reds plan to start Brady Singer against the Red Sox on Saturday and Rhett Lowder on Sunday.

Chase Burns and Brandon Williamson will start Cincinnati's next two games against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Goldsmith anticipates Lodolo, who exited Sunday's spring start with a blister on his finger, to return one day after he's eligible to face the Miami Marlins on April 8. Lodolo could have posed an early challenge for Boston's lineup.
