Hubert Davis' son takes dig at North Carolina after coaching change
North Carolina is moving on from Hubert Davis and Elijah Davis is moving on from North Carolina.
It's safe to say Elijah Davis is not pleased with North Carolina moving on from his father, Hubert Davis. Hours after the Tar Heels announced the coaching change, Elijah posted a picture of himself and Hubert exiting the Smith Center court with the caption, "right where we need to be. itโs His plan and His plan only.
" Nothing notable there. What is, however: Elijah erased the North Carolina logos off his jersey. Yikes.
It's hard to blame North Carolina for the move despite how revered Hubert has been in Chapel Hill historically. Davis played under Dean Smith, coached under Roy Williams and took North Carolina to the Final Four in his first season as head coach. But it's been rough since that debut season in 2021-22, with the Tar Heels getting bounced in the first round of each of the last two NCAA Tournaments.
