Browns legend posts video feeding into hopeful speculation of return

After signing elsewhere in 2025, could Nick Chubb return to the Browns this offseason for one last ride?

The Cleveland Browns need the running back position after third-down back Jerome Ford signed with the Washington Commanders on a one-year deal. After one season with the Houston Texans, could legendary Browns running back Nick Chubb make a return? This move is doubtful given the youth movement the Browns made at the position, now boasting three second-year running backs in the same room.

Headlined by Quinshon Judkins, the Browns also hold Dylan Sampson and Raheim Sanders on their depth chart and in their running back room. However, a recent video posted featuring Chubb has fueled speculation of a potential return. The video shows Chubb working out in the Browns' facility in multiple shots, with a strong motif of brown and orange throughout.

It has been three years since Chubb has played impactful football, and his time with the Texans showed more of the same.

After another knee injury suffered in 2023, given Chubb's age of 30, and how much tread he has already burned on his tires, there is a real reason to question if the running back has anything left to give. A year ago with the Texans, he rushed for just over 500 yards and three touchdowns. There is a chance the Browns could bring Chubb in to compete with Sanders for that third running back spot, but given the age of the roster in Cleveland and how competitive the Browns are expected to be, is that a reunion that Chubb wants right now?
