Since then, he’s stayed involved, campaigning and appearing at various events tied to the former President.
But after being left off the UFC White House card and seeing shifts within the ‘Make America Great Again’ movement, Covington appears ready to move on. Speaking ahead of his appearance at RAF Wrestling on Saturday night, he made it clear that politics no longer holds any appeal for him. Over time, what started as a promotional angle turned into genuine support, with Covington becoming a well-known figure within the ‘MAGA’ movement and forming close ties with Trump’s inner circle. Lately though, the increasing criticism of Trump and the shifting political climate have clearly worn him down. Speaking with Bloody Elbow ahead of his match against Dillon Danis on Fox Nation, he made it clear that he’s ready to step away from politics for good.
“I love Trump, he’s a great guy, but I’m not really political,” Covington explained. “In the future you won’t see me campaigning or actively involved in politics. I don’t want to be a part of it anymore.
