Boston is fighting for a playoff spot, and was taking on a Maple Leafs team that has struggled this season. Yet, the Bruins struggled throughout the game, en route to a disappointing 4-2 loss, which defenseman Nikita Zadorov called embarrassing . “Didn’t have emotions against the Toronto Maple Leafs,” Zadorov said on Tuesday, as seen on NESN’s postgame coverage.
“That’s on us for sure. We gotta be better than that. It’s important points for us at home, and to drop it like this, it’s embarrassing.
” Bruins head coach Marco Sturm echoed Zadorov’s comments, as he felt like the team didn’t play well enough to win. “Unfortunately, we didn’t have it today,” Sturm said. “We can talk about whatever we want, but it was just overall, it unfortunately was not good enough.
