Mike Francesa admits ‘brain warp’ over controversial St. John’s gaffe
Mike Francesa offended people thought he confused Joel Embiid with Hunter Dickinson: ‘I got a brain warp’
Mike Francesa is highly offended that listeners thought he confused Hunter Dickinson with Joel Embiid the other day when talking about St. John’s star Zuby Ejiofor. “Don’t pay attention to some of the crazy stuff,” the New York radio legend said via Funhouse .
“I know the other day when I was talking about Zuby, I said Embiid instead of Hunter Dickinson, who I was thinking about in my head. I don’t know, I got a brain warp in my head, what can I tell you? ” After his initial gaffe went viral, Francesa did go on X/Twitter to say he meant Dickinson and not Embiid.
“Didn’t realize I said Zoobie left Kansas because of Embiid,” he wrote . “Would have been difficult since he turned 32 yesterday. Meant Hunter Dickinson.
Graciously accept the rip. Deserve it. ” To summarize, Francesa somehow confused these two players who look nothing alike, and are at opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of their NBA accomplishments.
