Coco Gauff reveals which non-Grand Slam tournament she wants to win most

The American is still searching for her first title of what’s been a frustrating season so far, but Miami would be a big stage to break that drought.
Speaking recently about which non-Slam event she’d most like to add to her CV, Gauff didn’t hesitate. Coco Gauff talks about her motivation to win the Miami Open Photo by Robert Prange/Getty Images After her latest win, Gauff was asked on Tennis Channel: “You’ve won the biggest tournaments in the world, but where would the Miami Open rank for you in significance? ” Gauff responded: “Yeah, I think outside of the Slams it’s probably the number one tournament that I want to win, and then Indian Wells is number two.
“Yeah I think that’s pretty much… I mean obviously there are other tournaments I want to win too, but if I had to pick one, I would definitely pick Miami outside of the Slams. “And yeah, I think this is my first quarterfinal, which is kind of crazy because I’ve gotten a bye mostly in this tournament. So I’m just happy to get through to this stage.
“Definitely wouldn’t have thought that this year would have been the year I would have got to this stage, but we’ll take it. ” It makes sense why Gauff has her eye on winning in Miami – she’s from Delray Beach right up the road from Hard Rock Stadium.
