Eagles draft dream: Risk-taker Howie Roseman could eye these draft-day trades for top talents

The Eagles could make these five draft-day trades to improve roster.

With this year’s NFL draft lacking elite talent, most teams could be reluctant to part with draft capital to move up in the first round. Eagles general manager Howie Roseman , famous for pulling off bold moves, could greatly benefit if other teams enter the draft with a risk-averse approach. While his counterparts sit back and wait to pick, Roseman could identify a potential star in a weaker class and trade up to take him.

Roseman has traded up in four of the last five drafts. He moved up one pick to select Jihaad Campbell in 2025, and one pick to take Jalen Carter in 2023. He also jumped up two spots to take Jordan Davis in 2022 and DeVonta Smith in 2021.

In 2024, Roseman made his boldest draft move in recent history, trading up 10 picks to take Cooper DeJean in the second round. For the right player, Roseman might make a similar trade to go up in the first round. On April 23, the first night of the 2026 NFL Draft, Roseman could make his fifth first-round trade in the last six years if one of the top players at a key position drops within striking distance.

He has two third-round picks (No. 68 and No. 98) and five Day 3 picks in this draft to use to improve the team’s draft position.
