There aren't many new faces to know in 2026 for Milwaukee Brewers fans, but here's a quick primer on the newbies.

With Opening Day arriving Thursday, March 26, fans who have waited to check in on the Milwaukee Brewers will be pleased to know that most of the players competing in 2026 suited up for the Brewers at one point in 2025. In fact, if things project as anticipated for the opener against the Chicago White Sox, there will only be technically seven (and really just six) new Brewers to know on Opening Day: Kyle Harrison, left-handed pitcher Age: 24 Big-league experience: 42 games with San Francisco and Boston How he got here: Acquired in the deal that sent Caleb Durbin to Boston Role: In the starting rotation The former big-time pitching prospect is on his third team in less than a year but is already showing signs he can stick with the Brewers โ€“ and be a difference-maker. Harrison should get his opportunity from the get-go with Quinn Priester out, and his left-handedness is a welcome addition on a righty-heavy staff.

Brandon Sproat, right-handed pitcher Age: 25 Big-league experience: Four games with New York Mets How he got here: Acquired in the deal that sent Freddy Peralta and Tobias Myers to New York Role: In the starting rotation Sproat is similar to Harrison in that he's a well-regarded prospect, but different in that he's capable of regularly overpowering hitters with his high-octane stuff. He, like Harrison, will get a chance early to prove he's worthy of being a rotation regular. Luis Rengifo, third baseman Age: 29 Big-league experience: 673 games over seven years with Los Angeles Angels How he got here: Signed as a free agent Role: Starting third baseman The Brewers love Rengifo's veteran presence, ability to switch hit and proven track record since breaking in with the Los Angeles Angels in 2019.

He'll serve as the stopgap starter in 2026 with one of Milwaukee's many infield prospects up next. David Hamilton, infielder Age: 28 Big-league experience: 204 games over three seasons with Boston How he got here: Acquired in the deal that sent Caleb Durbin to Boston Role: Utility player, possibly starting at third base Think of Hamilton as a supercharged Andruw Monasterio. No, he can't play first base or left field, but he's an accomplished base stealer and has some pop in his left-handed bat.

He also entered pro baseball as a Brewers draft pick but was traded to Boston along with Jackie Bradley Jr. in a deal for Hunter Renfroe before the 2022 season. รngel Zerpa, left-handed pitcher Age: 26 Big-league experience: 148 games over three-plus seasons with Kansas City How he got here: Acquired in the deal that sent Nick Mears and Isaac Collins to Kansas City Role: High-leverage reliever A new addition to the bullpen, Zerpa brings another lively arm as well as some experience.
