Matt Campbell is aware of the importance of the Penn State spring football game for the fans and intends to keep that alive in some form.

Penn State is opening spring football practices this week, which means the annual Blue-White Game is coming up soon. The Penn State spring game is scheduled for the last weekend of April , but what exactly it looks like is still to be determined by new head coach Matt Campbell. Campbell met with the media on Tuesday to share some updates and thoughts on his newly assembled team.

Naturally, he was asked about his plans for the spring football game, which is has typically been a big offseason draw for Penn State fans over the years. Campbell is aware of the importance of the spring game atmosphere and the connection with the fans, and he intends to keep that in place in some capacity. "I think it's really important for us and how critical our fan base is to our football program that we get out and have an opportunity for our fans to be with us, but I think equally it's critical for our players to be in that stadium and to feel what that fan base feels like and looks like and what Beaver Stadium looks like, replicating that environment to the best of our ability before we step in and play a game, obviously, next fall," Campbell said during his spring press conference on Tuesday.

As for what exactly the 15th practice will look like, however, Campbell is seemingly up in the air about the presentation. "I think we'll evaluate exactly what that 15th practice looks like. I think you'll get some version of practice," Campbell said during his press conference on Tuesday.

"Hopefully we can get some scrimmaging where we get some live reps in practice and be able to showcase that. " What we won't do is waste a day. What we will do is I think it's really important for us to be out there and make sure we do a great job of being there for our fans and equally being able to be with our fans because I think it's really important.
