Brown and Bailey reportedly set to enter the transfer portal
HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — The first two University of Southern Indiana men’s basketball players reportedly intend enter the transfer portal after a (7-23) season with the Screaming Eagles. Junior wing, Amaree Brown and senior guard, Cardell Bailey are reportedly looking for new homes after playing one year in the Liberty Arena.
Brown appeared in 16 games this past season for USI making 12 starts while averaging about 13. 8 points and 2. 8 rebounds per game.
The Chicago native started his career at Pan-Handle State University before transferring to Southern Indiana this year where he carved out a big role for Stan Gouard’s team. He even claimed an Ohio Valley Conference New Comer of the Week award back in February. Bailey made seven starts for the Screaming Eagles in the 29 games he played this past season.
The Detroit native averaged about 12. 6 points and five rebounds per game. Bailey hopes to gain a fifth year of eligibility by entering the portal.
He started his journey at Yavapai College in Arizona, before moving over to Navarro College in Texas. Bailey then transferred to University of Maryland Eastern Shore prior to joining Southern Indiana. Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
