High School Soccer Area Round Playoffs Monday, March 23 Boys Class 4A, Division 1 In Midland, Ysleta defeated Dumas, 1-0. Adrian Escalante scored the winning goal for the Indians with three minutes left in the match and goalkeeper Alian Aguilera had a key save on a penalty kick by Dumas to secure the win. The Indians have won three area titles in school history, The previous area titles came in 1998 and 2011.
Girls Class 5A, Division 1 In Midland, Amarillo Tascosa defeated Americas, 2-0. The Trailblazers won the school's first-ever bidistrict titke this season. Class 5A, Division 2 In Midland, Wichita Falls Memorial defeated Del Valle, 2-1.
Del Valle ends its season with 21 victories. Tuesday, March 24 Boys Class 6A, Division 1 In Lubbock, Keller defeated Pebble Hills, 4-0 . The Spartans finish the season with a 15-9-1 record.
