SAN ANGELO, Texas ( Concho Valley Homepage ) — The Lake View High School boys soccer team put up a strong fight Tuesday, but the Chiefs came up short in a 3-2 loss against Decatur in an area playoff match at Shotwell Stadium in Abilene. Gio Mendoza had both goals for the the Chiefs, and Uli Chavez and Santiago Martinez had an assist apiece. Lake View finished 20-3-1 under longtime head coach Kyle Jones.
Decatur will take a 16-1-2 record into the third round later this week. Tuesday’s loss doesn’t overshadow the kind of season the Chiefs enjoyed. Not only did they go 18-0 in district for a fifth-straight league title, they also went undefeated in district for the fourth-straight year Click on the video above for highlights from Tuesday’s game.
