The son of former NBA standout Mo Williams heads to Lexington as the Wildcats look for their first 2026 pledge.

Kentucky Basketball is continuing to evaluate high school talent as the staff hits the recruiting trail. Now, Kentucky is looking to add a player from the class of 2026 with point guard Mason Williams set to visit campus on Wednesday, according to Jacob Polacheck of KSR. Williams, a 6-foot-2, 185-pound point guard from Tennessee Collegiate Academy, is one of the more intriguing guards in the 2026 class.

Heโ€™s also the son of former NBA point guard Mo Williams, which gives him a strong basketball pedigree and an advanced feel for the game. Before reopening his recruitment, Williams was committed to Jackson State but backed off that pledge in December 2025. Since then, his recruitment has picked up, with Kentucky now getting involved at a key time.

According to 247 Sports , Williams is ranked just outside the top 100 nationally in the 2026 class. Heโ€™s considered a top-15 point guard in the cycle and the No. 3 overall prospect in the state of Tennessee.

Rivals has him ranked No. 124 overall and No. 4 in the Volunteer State.
