STARKVILLE — Mississippi State baseball starting pitcher Ryan McPherson was diagnosed with a mild forearm strain, coach Brian O'Connor announced after the 12-0 win against Southern Miss on March 24. "There's no timetable to it right now," O'Connor said. "We're still consulting with doctors and stuff, but that is the diagnosis on Ryan McPherson's mild forearm strain. We'll kind of figure out in the coming days what we're looking at from a timetable standpoint.
" McPherson exited his March 20 start against Vanderbilt in the fifth inning after throwing one warmup pitch. He did not slip on the pitch or grab any specific part of his body after throwing the pitch and underwent an MRI on March 22.
