Johnson City debuts new Baseball and Softball Fields ahead of Home Openers

Yahoo Sports

JOHNSON CITY (WIVT/WBGH) – As the spring season has officially begun, with that comes some new fields in the area, as there were last year, as more and more schools continue to move to turf. The latest, Johnson City. In the Wildcats first home games for both baseball and softball, they would unveil their new fields ahead of the 2026 spring season.

There was a ceremonial first pitch thrown before each game, with plenty of staff on the field with the teams to commemorate the occasion. New turf, drainage, fences, backstops, and walkways were installed for both fields as part of Phase 1 of the district’s Revitalize 2025 capital project. Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
